Community Health Nurses Initiatives Group
The Community Health Nurses Initiatives Group (CHNIG) is a voluntary interest group of the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, and the voice of community health nurses across the province. Along with building capacity among and advocating for Ontario’s community health nurses, CHNIG also aims to influence health and social policy to address the social determinants of health and improve health equity.
- CHNIG collaborates with the de Souza Institute on a Health Promotion Monthly Seminar Series , covering topics related to community as well as acute care. In 2012, NCCDH director, Connie Clement led one of these seminars on the 10 principles for action for community nurses working to address the social determinants of health.
