National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health
The National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health (NCCAH) located at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, BC, supports First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in realizing their public health goals and reducing the health inequities that currently exist for Aboriginal populations in Canada.
In 2008, the NCCAH held the Circles of Health: Sharing our Gifts forum. A summary report and video from the forum are available online.
This was followed by a second forum, Reclaiming Wholeness: From Visions to Actions held in 2009. A summary report and video are also available online.
The popular report Health Inequalities and the Social Determinants of Aboriginal Peoples describes health inequalities experienced by Aboriginal peoples in Canada and links them to the social determinants of health.
