Population Health Intervention Research Centre, University of Calgary
The Population Health Intervention Research Centre (PHIRC) was established at the University of Calgary in 2004 by the Canadian Institute of Health Research’s (CIHR) Institute of Population and Public Health. The mission of PHIRC is to provide the evidence that will encourage and support policy makers to put more resources into prevention. Research at the Centre is aimed primarily at improving the effectiveness of interventions designed to improve population health.
