Region of Waterloo Public Health
Region of Waterloo Public Health works to create healthy and supportive communities through various health promotion, disease prevention and health protection actions, often in partnership with others. Regional of Waterloo Public Health is part of a provincial network of 36 non-profit public health agencies, funded jointly by local and provincial governments.
- The Region of Waterloo Public Health developed Why We Need To Work With Priority Populations in 2009. The Ontario Public Health Standards are listed and include: 1) identify and describe evidence of health status and health inequities; 2) modify public health interventions to meet the unique needs of priority populations; 3) collaborate with others to meet the socio-economic needs of priority populations; and, 4) support stakeholders in advocating for policy improvements to address health inequities.
