This report by Marmot et al. considers how socioeconomic inequities in the United Kingdom prior to the pandemic led to poorer population outcomes from COVID-19. The authors offer analysis of inequalities in population mortality and containment for children, employment conditions, standards of living, sustainable communities and health promotion.

The report also includes recommendations for pandemic recovery across determinants and over both short- and long-term periods.
