What is the health impact of COVID-19 among Black communities in Canada? A systematic review

Un résumé du texte est disponible en français. This Resource Library entry is a stub — a shortened entry. Please visit the resource link directly for more detail.

This systematic review identifies the health impacts of COVID-19 on the mortality, morbidity, and hospital admission rates of Black populations across Canada. Despite the limited availability of race-based data, the results indicate that Black people faced disproportionate COVID-19 health impacts. Racism was identified as a contributing factor for these differences. The authors conclude their review by discussing the need for the collection and availability of race-based data.
