The Cutting Edge: All Things Health and Wellness COVID-19 and Beyond

The Cutting Edge is an informational talk show that is devoted to improving African American health. It is a project of the Maryland Centre for Health Equity at the Maryland University School of Public Health and was originated as a community resource during the peak of uncertainty in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the show’s inception, it has flourished to cover an array of important topics related to public health such as systemic racism, Black history, environmental justice, and mental health. The show’s tone is lively, and relevant in that it showcases current strategies for advancing social justice and health equity. It is an engaging and low-barrier resource for all health professionals, from student to late-career.
The Cutting Edge hosts, Mayor Omar Neal and Dr. Stephen B Thomas, interview esteemed professionals from a variety of fields related to health and the social determinants. The hosts will have you nodding along and grinning from ear to ear with their inquisitive charm and poignant questions.
The show airs LIVE each Thursday at 7pm EST/EDT. The recorded episodes are then posted on the show’s Youtube channel. The show’s channel contains 46 episodes and counting, which are sure to benefit any professional who wants to better center health equity in their professional practice.
